November 20, 2006 (Press Release) --
In his work, An Alternative View of the Universe, Belrad compares his model directly against the Big Bang, using the older model's own supporting evidence against it. The paper is brief, less than 20 pages, and, astoundingly, conveys its ideas in plain english. The author assumes that the reader has, at least, a basic understanding of modern Physics, and a passing familiarity with the Quantum world, but it is nonetheless easily understood by the uninitiated.
The backbone of the Theory is that the Universe is Eternal, and that there was never a moment of creation. Despite its brevity, the paper manages to touch on such weighty matters as the quantity of "light" elements, the spectral shift of light from distant galaxies, and the Cosmic Microwave Background, and also makes robust predictions of its own, including a sort of anti-gravity effect caused by Antimatter.
"The scary thing is, [Bryan]'s Theory makes a lot more sense." says Mike Ranieri, a long time friend of the author.
The author is quick to note that this is merely an outline of the new Theory, presumably with additional works to follow. Despite the lack of depth on any single aspect, the overall scope of An Alternative View of the Universe is breathtaking, and enough to make anyone's mind fill with wonder about the cosmos we live in.
